Line manager for the five man Network Team installing, supporting and enhancing the company LANs and WANs
This was a high profile proactive role in a computer savvy company that involved working with staff and managers across the company to derive and formalize the company business model, suiting new systems to it by exerting control over disparate parts of the organization and drawing them together into a cohesive whole, introducing standards (suitable for ISO 9002) and standardising hardware, software and methods. It involved a good deal of communication, persuasion, training and human interface development. My responsibilities included managing the Network Team installing, supporting and enhancing the company Local and Wide Area Networks, software and hardware selection, evaluation, maintenance and support. The development of network strategy was extended to encompass Internet/Intranet applications.
